In a worldwide test of 15-year-old students, the US has placed average or below average in reading, math and science compared to other nations. The test is called the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), and it is administered by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in order to compare educational attainment across the globe. In an interview with OECD Senior Analyst Michael Davidson, National Public Radio's Melissa Block examines where the US falls behind, and what leaders should examine going forward.
