What if the key to engaging more students with science is as simple as handing them markers and letting them doodle? A recent study published in the journal Science found that asking students to illustrate the material being taught in class helped them to engage more and put in more effort. Rather than sitting passively, they were able to "draw out" complex concepts, which led to better understanding and retention of the information presented.
